Privacy Policy
Plain language, and specific to what this site actually does.
Last updated
The short version: there are no accounts here, so we never ask for your name, email or age. Your game statistics stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. We use Google Analytics to count visits. We do not show ads on this site, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
1. What We Collect
Two things, and nothing else:
- Anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 — which pages were opened, roughly where in the world the visit came from (from your IP address, at city level at most), what kind of device and browser, and how long the visit lasted. This is aggregate reporting; it does not identify you.
- Whatever you choose to put in an email. If you write to us, we have your message and your address, and we use them only to reply.
2. What We Do Not Collect
- No name, email address, date of birth or phone number — there is no form on this site that asks for them.
- No account, no password, no profile.
- No payment details. Nothing on this site costs money.
- No microphone, camera, contacts or precise location access.
3. What Stays on Your Own Device
The game keeps a few things in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers how you like to play: your win/loss record, the difficulty you last chose, whether forced jumps are on, and whether sound is muted.
This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data erases it, and it does not follow you to another computer — because there is no account to sync it to.
4. Cookies
Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to tell one visit from another. They are read only by this site and are used for counting, not for advertising.
We do not use cookies to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not run third-party advertising or retargeting tags on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the game will still work exactly the same.
5. Google Analytics
Analytics is provided by Google, which processes the data on our behalf and under its own privacy terms. You can read Google’s description of the data it collects on its partner sites page, and you can opt out for every site at once with Google’s browser add-on.
6. Advertising
There is currently no advertising on Pure Checkers. If that ever changes we will update this page before any ad code goes live, and say plainly who the provider is and what they collect.
7. Links to Other Sites
The footer links to a handful of our own other games. Once you follow any external link you are on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy, not ours.
8. Children
Checkers is a game plenty of children play, and nothing here is unsuitable for them. Because we collect no personal information at all, we do not knowingly hold any data belonging to a child. If you believe we somehow have, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal data a site holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold none unless you have emailed us — in which case write to the address below and we will delete the correspondence on request.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes — a new analytics provider, or advertising — will be described here rather than buried.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy: [email protected], or see the contact page. Pure Checkers is operated by Yoda Games.
